The Vin Bin
27 South Bolton Street | Marlborough, MA 01752 | www.thevinbin.com
Mission
Our assignment was to assist this start-up with numerous aspects of its store business plan – including marketing and retail merchandising – in addition to aiding in the design of its logo, signage, and the store interior.
Tactics

We worked with owners Rick and Julie Lombardi to develop their concept, define and clarify the brand and in-store experience, and assist with the design of the store layout, signage, and custom-designed “vin bins”.
Retail Concepts also helped identify key competitive advantages and develop pricing and promotional strategies, marketing and retail merchandising plans, customer service procedures, and vendor relationships necessary to translate those advantages into a store that continually exceeds expectations.
We have made periodic follow-up visits after the Vin Bin’s successful 2004 opening to ensure hours, merchandise, staff, policies, and objectives are continuing to meet customers’ expectations, and are happy to report the business remains focused and on track.
Results
Over five years later, the Vin Bin is an example of a retail start-up dream come true. An emphasis on customer service and thoughtful product selection that reflects value, quality, and excellence has earned the store numerous honors, including Marlborough’s "Small Business of the Year" and the Metrowest Daily News’ “No. 1 Liquor Store” in Central Massachusetts in 2006.
What the Client Had to Say
"Mike Tesler and the good folks at Retail Concepts have an uncanny knack for turning dreams into reality. We had a vision, but without Retail Concepts, that vision would have been just a fuzzy idea with no direction. Mike gives it to you straight. If you listen to him, you will succeed."
